1) WASH EXTENSIONS
Extensions can soak up your hair’s natural oil, so it’s important to wash them to maintain their shape and quality. Some of the fibers may fall out if your extensions are allowed to get overly greasy. Wash them gently – soak extensions in warm water in your bathroom sink. Use a gentle, clarifying shampoo. Cover them gently – don’t scrub in the shampoo as you would with your natural hair. Scrubbing it in will just lead to a tangled mess. Rub it down the length of the extension, and rinse thoroughly with cold, clean water. Don’t comb or brush extensions while they’re wet. You’ll risk tearing out the hair. Do not blow dry. Allow them to dry naturally before combing. This is why it’s important not to scrub too hard while shampooing the extensions.
2)Hydrate with Hair Care
It’s extremely important to use high-quality sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. You want to keep the hair hydrated and full of moisture. You want to make sure you have a quality Shampoo, Conditioner, and Leave-In Conditioner for the next steps.
3)Comb and Moisturize
Once your extensions are dry, you should comb them with BEAUX EXTENSIONS COMB to smooth them out and remove any tangles. Just like your natural hair, extensions can grow dry in the colder months, especially when you heat style them, so be sure to moisturize them when they feel dry. A little leave-in conditioner should do the trick. You want to make sure not to over-moisturize, else your extensions will grow oily and flat. Just use a small dab every once-in-a-while.
4)Styling Your Extensions
Heat styling is necessary if you want to look good, even though it’s damaging to natural hair and extensions alike. Never blow dry extensions, but you can use straightening irons and curling irons to achieve your look. Of course, we only recommend the highest quality Remy clip-in hair extensions. They are your best bet for withstanding heat and long-life.
5)STORING YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS :
Only heat style hair extensions when they’re completely dry. If possible, purchase two sets of extensions – one that is straightened and one that is curly to cut down on the number of times you have to style the extensions and increase the life of your extensions. Take good care of your hair extensions, and they’ll keep you looking great.
Finished wearing your hair extensions? Before you store them, it’s always a good idea to ensure that they are free from tangles, as well as being nice and clean. This is because some hair products have a knack of damaging or discoloring our beloved clip-in hair extensions if left on for too long. It’s also important to care for your clip-in hair extensions by ensuring they’re kept free from mildew and mustiness – always remember to make sure that they are completely dry before putting them away. This way you’ll avoid any unpleasant surprises!
